PRR Westbound Pushers, c. 1951
Baera 2. Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken from the 12th Street Footbridge in Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1951. Prominent here is an A-B-A set of Pennsylvania Railroad "EH" Class diesels built by GM-EMD serving as tail-end pushers on a freight train heading up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin, where're they'll be uncoupled and returned to East Altoona for further assignment. Partially visible at the right is the Passenger Station's venerable trainshed. In the hazy distance is the 17th Street Bridge. Visible at the left are some of PRR's 12st Car Shop buildings. The names of the Shopmen pictured here are not recorded.
